Publication Frequency

Indonesian Journal of Policing and Security Studies is a double-anonymous peer-reviewed academic journal published by COLLEGIUM JUSTICIA INDONESIA. The journal was first published in 2026 and is published on a quarterly basis, with four regular issues released each year in January, April, July, and October.

The journal maintains a regular publication schedule to ensure the timely dissemination of high-quality scholarly research in policing, law enforcement, public security, and security studies.

Regular Issues

The journal publishes four regular issues annually:

  • Issue 1: January

  • Issue 2: April

  • Issue 3: July

  • Issue 4: October

Manuscripts accepted for publication are assigned to an appropriate issue according to the journal's editorial schedule, production process, and publication capacity. Acceptance of a manuscript does not automatically guarantee publication in a particular issue.

The number of articles published in each issue may vary depending on the number and quality of manuscripts that successfully complete the journal's editorial and peer-review process.

Special Issues

In addition to its four regular issues, Indonesian Journal of Policing and Security Studies may publish Special Issues focusing on specific themes, emerging research areas, significant developments, or interdisciplinary topics that are closely aligned with the journal's Focus and Scope.

Special Issues may be proposed by the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, Guest Editors, or through other appropriate academic initiatives. All Special Issue proposals are subject to editorial evaluation and approval.

Articles published in a Special Issue are subject to the same academic, editorial, peer-review, research-integrity, and publication-ethics standards as articles published in regular issues.

In particular:

  • Special Issue articles must fall within the journal's Focus and Scope.

  • Manuscripts must undergo the journal's established peer-review process.

  • The identity and selection of reviewers must comply with the journal's Peer Review Policy.

  • Guest Editors must disclose and appropriately manage any conflicts of interest.

  • Special Issue articles must not receive preferential treatment solely because they are part of a Special Issue.

  • Editorial decisions must remain independent of commercial, institutional, or personal interests.

  • The Editor-in-Chief retains overall editorial responsibility for the integrity and final publication decisions of Special Issues.

A Special Issue may be published in addition to the journal's four regular issues and does not replace or reduce the journal's established quarterly publication schedule, unless a different arrangement is clearly announced by the journal in advance.

Special Issue Publication Schedule

The timing of a Special Issue may differ from the regular January, April, July, and October publication schedule.

The publication date of each Special Issue will be determined by the editorial team based on the completion of peer review, revisions, copyediting, production, and other publication processes.

The journal will announce the theme, submission or invitation procedures, editorial arrangements, and expected publication schedule of a Special Issue through its official communication channels.

Continuous Editorial Standards

Regardless of whether an article is published in a regular issue or a Special Issue, all manuscripts must meet the journal's requirements concerning:

  • Originality and scholarly contribution;

  • Research methodology;

  • Academic quality;

  • Ethical research conduct;

  • Publication ethics;

  • Peer-review standards; and

  • Relevance to the journal's Focus and Scope.

Publication frequency and issue scheduling do not influence the academic evaluation or editorial decision concerning individual manuscripts.

Indonesian Journal of Policing and Security Studies is committed to maintaining its quarterly publication schedule of January, April, July, and October while ensuring that publication decisions remain based on scholarly quality rather than the need to fill a particular issue.
