Article Processing Charges

Indonesian Journal of Policing and Security Studies is published by COLLEGIUM JUSTICIA INDONESIA under an Open Access publishing model.

To support the editorial, peer-review, production, publication, digital preservation, and dissemination of scholarly articles, the journal applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to manuscripts that have been accepted for publication.

1. APC Amount

The current Article Processing Charge is:

IDR 5,000,000 (five million Indonesian Rupiah) per accepted article.

The APC applies to each article accepted for publication, regardless of the number of authors.

2. Submission Fee

No submission fee is charged.

Authors may submit manuscripts and participate in the editorial and peer-review process without making any payment.

The APC is charged only if and after the manuscript receives a formal acceptance decision.

3. When the APC Is Payable

The APC becomes payable after formal acceptance of the manuscript.

The corresponding author will receive official payment instructions or an invoice from the journal after the editorial acceptance decision.

Authors should not make any APC payment before receiving official payment instructions from the journal.

4. What the APC Covers

The APC supports the costs associated with:

  • Editorial administration;

  • Peer-review management;

  • Copyediting and proofreading where applicable;

  • Typesetting and article formatting;

  • Online publication;

  • DOI and metadata administration where applicable;

  • Digital archiving and preservation;

  • Maintenance of the journal's publishing platform; and

  • Open and unrestricted access to the published article.

The APC does not constitute a fee for peer-review acceptance or favorable editorial treatment.

5. Editorial Independence

Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial or peer-review decisions.

The ability or willingness of an author to pay the APC does not affect:

  • Initial editorial screening;

  • Reviewer selection;

  • Peer-review outcomes;

  • Requests for revision;

  • Acceptance or rejection decisions; or

  • Publication priority.

All manuscripts are evaluated according to the journal's academic, methodological, editorial, and ethical standards.

6. Open Access

The APC supports the journal's Open Access publishing model.

All accepted and published articles are made freely and immediately available online without subscription or access fees.

Readers are not required to pay to:

  • Read articles;

  • Download articles;

  • Access the journal archive; or

  • Use published articles in accordance with the applicable Creative Commons license.

7. Copyright and Licensing

Payment of the APC does not transfer copyright ownership to the publisher.

Authors retain copyright in their published articles in accordance with the journal's Copyright and Licensing Policy.

Unless otherwise stated, articles are published under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

8. APC Waiver and Discount

The journal recognizes that some authors may face genuine financial difficulties.

Authors may request a full or partial APC waiver or discount in exceptional circumstances.

A waiver or discount request should be submitted to the journal with a brief explanation of the relevant financial circumstances.

APC waiver requests are considered separately from the academic evaluation of the manuscript.

The decision regarding a waiver or discount does not influence the peer-review or editorial decision.

9. Special Issue APC

Unless otherwise announced, articles published in Special Issues are subject to the same APC:

IDR 5,000,000 per accepted article.

If a particular Special Issue has a different APC arrangement, the applicable charge will be clearly communicated to authors before submission or invitation.

Special Issue APC arrangements do not affect the journal's peer-review standards or editorial independence.

10. Additional Charges

The journal does not normally charge authors additional fees beyond the stated APC for standard publication services.

Authors will not be charged for:

  • Initial submission;

  • Standard peer review;

  • Online access by readers;

  • Repository deposit;

  • Author self-archiving; or

  • Standard article publication.

Any exceptional or author-requested service that may involve an additional charge will be communicated to the author in advance.

The journal does not impose undisclosed publication charges.

11. Refund Policy

APC payments are generally non-refundable once the publication production process has commenced.

However, the journal may consider a refund or adjustment in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Duplicate payment;

  • Payment made in error;

  • Administrative or technical errors attributable to the journal; or

  • Other circumstances determined by the publisher.

If an article is subsequently retracted because of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, research misconduct, or other author-related ethical violations, the APC is generally not refundable.

12. Payment Procedure

APC payments must be made only through the official payment method communicated by the journal.

Authors should retain proof of payment.

Authors should not transfer APC payments to individuals or accounts that have not been officially authorized by the journal.

Any suspected fraudulent payment request should be reported to the journal immediately.

13. International Authors

The standard APC is stated in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR).

International authors may contact the journal regarding available payment arrangements where payment in another currency is necessary.

Any bank, transaction, or currency-conversion charges may be the responsibility of the payer unless otherwise agreed.

14. No Guarantee of Publication

Payment of the APC does not guarantee publication.

A manuscript must successfully complete the journal's:

  • Editorial screening;

  • Peer-review process;

  • Revision requirements;

  • Publication-ethics assessment; and

  • Final editorial decision.

The APC is payable only after the manuscript has been formally accepted.

15. Transparency of Publication Charges

The journal is committed to maintaining transparent and publicly accessible information concerning its publication charges.

The current APC is:

Any changes to the APC or related publication charges will be announced transparently through the journal's official website.

16. Policy Review

The Article Processing Charges Policy may be periodically reviewed to ensure that publication costs remain transparent, reasonable, and consistent with the journal's Open Access publishing model.

Any substantive changes to the APC will be communicated publicly and will normally apply prospectively to new submissions.
