Publication Frequency

Indonesian Tourism Justice Review is published four times a year on a quarterly basis, with regular issues released in:

June
September
December

The journal accepts manuscript submissions throughout the year and operates a continuous editorial and peer-review process. Articles that have successfully completed the editorial and peer-review process may be assigned to the next available regular issue in accordance with the journal's publication schedule.

Special Issues

Indonesian Tourism Justice Review may publish Special Issues on emerging, timely, or strategically significant themes within the journal's focus and scope. Special Issues are intended to promote focused scholarly discussion, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international research on specific topics related to tourism, justice, law, governance, sustainability, society, and related fields.

Special Issues may be proposed by members of the academic community, including researchers, academics, and prospective Guest Editors. Proposals should demonstrate the academic significance, originality, timeliness, and international relevance of the proposed theme.

A Special Issue proposal should normally include:

proposed title and theme;
rationale and academic significance;
relevance to the journal's aims and scope;
key research questions or thematic areas;
proposed Guest Editor(s) and their institutional affiliations;
brief academic profiles of the proposed Guest Editor(s);
proposed number and types of contributions; and
a proposed timeline for submission, review, revision, and publication.

All Special Issue proposals are subject to evaluation and approval by the Editor-in-Chief and/or Editorial Board. Approval of a Special Issue proposal does not constitute acceptance of any individual manuscript.

Guest Editors

Approved Special Issues may be managed by one or more Guest Editors working in collaboration with the journal's editorial team. Guest Editors are expected to have relevant academic expertise and a demonstrated record of scholarly research or publication in the proposed subject area.

Guest Editors are responsible for assisting with the academic coordination of the Special Issue, including identifying potential contributors, supporting the peer-review process, and ensuring the thematic coherence and scholarly quality of submissions.

The Editor-in-Chief retains ultimate responsibility for all editorial and publication decisions. Guest Editors cannot independently guarantee acceptance or publication of any manuscript.

Peer Review of Special Issue Articles

All manuscripts submitted to a Special Issue are subject to the journal's standard double-anonymized peer-review process and must meet the same academic, methodological, ethical, and editorial standards as manuscripts submitted to regular issues.

Special Issue submissions are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. The journal may appoint additional reviewers where necessary.

Being invited to contribute to a Special Issue does not guarantee publication. All manuscripts must successfully pass editorial screening and peer review.

Conflicts of Interest

Guest Editors, Editorial Board members, and reviewers must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.

Guest Editors must not manage the peer-review or editorial decision-making process for manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, including manuscripts they have authored or co-authored. Such manuscripts will be handled independently by the Editor-in-Chief or another designated editor.

Authors, reviewers, and Guest Editors are expected to comply with the journal's general Publication Ethics and Peer Review Policies.

Editorial Standards and Integrity

Special Issues are subject to the same standards of research integrity, publication ethics, authorship, plagiarism prevention, data integrity, and editorial independence as regular journal issues.

The journal reserves the right to reject or withdraw a Special Issue, or individual manuscripts within it, if serious ethical, scholarly, or procedural concerns arise.

Publication and Scheduling

Special Issues may be published as a dedicated issue or incorporated into the journal's regular quarterly publication schedule, subject to editorial approval and production capacity.

The publication of a Special Issue does not alter the journal's regular publication frequency of four issues per year.

The journal may announce Special Issues through its official website and other appropriate academic communication channels. Submission deadlines, review timelines, and publication schedules will be specified in each Special Issue call for papers.
