Article Processing Charges
Indonesian Tourism Justice Review is an open-access academic journal. To support the editorial, peer-review, production, publishing, and digital dissemination processes, the journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 5,000,000 (five million Indonesian Rupiah) per accepted article.
1. APC Amount
The applicable Article Processing Charge is:
IDR 5,000,000 (five million Indonesian Rupiah) per article.
The APC applies only to manuscripts that have successfully completed the editorial and peer-review process and have received an official acceptance decision for publication.
2. No Submission or Peer-Review Fee
The journal does not charge authors any submission fee or peer-review fee.
Authors are not required to make any payment at the time of initial submission or during the peer-review process.
An APC is payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.
3. What the APC Covers
The APC contributes to the costs associated with scholarly publishing, including:
- editorial administration;
- peer-review management;
- manuscript processing and copyediting;
- typesetting and publication production;
- DOI registration and article metadata management;
- online hosting and journal platform maintenance;
- digital preservation and archiving;
- indexing and scholarly dissemination activities; and
- other operational costs associated with maintaining the journal's publication infrastructure.
Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication of a manuscript.
4. Editorial Independence
Payment of an APC has no influence on editorial or peer-review decisions.
All manuscripts are evaluated according to the journal's academic, methodological, ethical, and editorial standards.
Editors and reviewers are not permitted to make editorial decisions based on an author's ability or willingness to pay publication charges.
An article must first receive a formal acceptance decision before an APC invoice or payment request is issued.
5. Waivers and Discounts
The journal may provide full or partial APC waivers or discounts in cases where authors demonstrate genuine financial constraints or other circumstances recognized by the journal.
Requests for a waiver or discount should be submitted to the editorial office before or at the time of submission, unless otherwise specified by the journal.
Waiver requests are handled separately from the editorial and peer-review process and have no influence on the academic evaluation of the manuscript.
The availability and criteria for waivers may be reviewed periodically by the journal.
6. International Authors
Authors outside Indonesia may contact the editorial office regarding the applicable payment method and currency conversion for the APC.
The journal seeks to ensure that publication charges do not unnecessarily restrict participation from researchers in different geographical and economic contexts.
Where appropriate, international authors may request an APC waiver or discount based on financial circumstances.
7. Special Issues
The standard APC of IDR 5,000,000 per accepted article also applies to manuscripts published in Special Issues unless a different APC arrangement has been explicitly announced in the official Call for Papers.
Guest Editors, invited authors, or Special Issue contributors are not automatically exempt from APCs.
Any waiver or discount offered for a Special Issue must be transparently communicated in the relevant Call for Papers.
8. Refund Policy
Once an article has entered the publication production process, APC payments are generally non-refundable.
If a publication cannot proceed due to an error attributable to the journal or publisher, the journal may review the circumstances and determine an appropriate remedy.
APCs will not be refunded merely because an author subsequently requests withdrawal of an accepted manuscript after publication production has commenced.
9. No Additional Mandatory Publication Charges
The journal will clearly disclose any additional mandatory charges before they are incurred.
Authors will not be required to pay undisclosed publication fees.
Any optional services or additional charges, where applicable, will be communicated separately and will not affect editorial decisions.
10. Transparency of Publication Charges
The current APC and any applicable waiver or discount policy are publicly displayed on the journal website.
The journal will notify authors of any future changes to the APC before the revised fee becomes applicable.
The APC policy applies equally to authors regardless of institutional affiliation, nationality, academic position, or geographic location, subject to the journal's published waiver and discount provisions.
11. Payment Procedure
After formal acceptance, the corresponding author will receive instructions regarding the APC payment process.
Authors should not make payments to individuals or accounts that are not officially identified by the journal.
The journal will provide appropriate documentation or confirmation of payment where applicable.
12. Commitment to Ethical Publishing
The APC is intended solely to support the sustainable operation and quality of the journal's open-access publishing model.
The journal does not accept payment in exchange for favorable peer review, expedited acceptance, guaranteed publication, or preferential editorial treatment.
Indonesian Tourism Justice Review maintains a strict separation between financial transactions and editorial decision-making to protect the integrity, independence, and credibility of the scholarly publishing process.
