About the Journal
Indonesian Discourse on Communication, Democracy, and Political Movements offers an interdisciplinary platform for exploring the dynamic relationships between communication, democracy, and political movements within Indonesia. The journal examines how both traditional and digital communication strategies shape political landscapes, influence democratic processes, and drive social and political change in the Indonesian context. Through a variety of theoretical and empirical approaches, it highlights how communication acts as a catalyst for both grassroots activism and top-down political discourse.
The journal invites contributions that analyze political discourse, media representation, civil society engagement, and the impact of social media on political mobilization. It also addresses the intersection of culture, religion, and politics in communication, along with critical issues such as government control over the media and its effects on democratic practices. By engaging with diverse perspectives and case studies, the journal fosters a deeper understanding of the role communication plays in shaping Indonesia’s political realities and advancing democratic ideals, both locally and globally.
