Copyrights and Licensing Policy
Indonesian Discourse on Communication, Democracy, and Political Movements (e-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX), published by COLLEGIUM JUSTICIA INDONESIA, is committed to protecting authors' rights while ensuring broad and immediate dissemination of scholarly work.
1. Copyright Ownership
Authors retain full copyright ownership of their published articles.
The journal and publisher do not require authors to transfer or assign copyright as a condition of publication.
Authors retain all rights to their original work, subject only to the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license and any third-party rights that may apply to material included in the article.
Publication in the journal does not restrict authors from using, sharing, reproducing, distributing, archiving, or otherwise making use of their work, provided that applicable copyright and licensing requirements are respected.
2. Creative Commons License
All articles published by the journal are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Under the CC BY 4.0 license, anyone may:
- share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
- adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
These freedoms are granted provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the original material are indicated.
The full license terms are available through the official Creative Commons website.
3. Author Rights
Because authors retain copyright, authors are free to:
- share and distribute their published article;
- deposit the article in institutional or subject repositories;
- post the article on personal or institutional websites;
- use the article in teaching and educational activities;
- reuse portions of the article in future scholarly works;
- include the article in a thesis, dissertation, or academic portfolio;
- share the article through academic and research networks; and
- grant additional permissions to third parties, subject to the CC BY 4.0 license and applicable law.
No additional permission from the journal or publisher is required for uses that are already permitted under the CC BY 4.0 license.
4. Rights of Readers and Third Parties
Readers and third parties may freely access, download, copy, distribute, reproduce, adapt, and reuse published articles under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
Any reuse must provide appropriate attribution to the original author(s) and source, include a link to the CC BY 4.0 license, and indicate whether changes were made.
Users must not imply that the original authors or the journal endorse the adaptation or reuse unless such endorsement has been expressly authorized.
5. Third-Party Materials
Authors are responsible for ensuring that any third-party materials included in their manuscripts are used lawfully.
Where an article contains material that is not owned by the authors or is subject to different copyright or licensing conditions, such material should be clearly identified.
The CC BY 4.0 license applies to the material to which the journal and authors hold the necessary rights. Third-party material may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions.
6. Moral Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or waive any moral rights that authors may have under applicable copyright law.
Appropriate attribution to the original author(s) must be maintained when the article is reused or adapted.
7. Copyright and Editorial Decisions
Copyright ownership and editorial decisions are separate matters.
The retention of copyright by authors does not affect the journal's independent editorial and peer-review process. Acceptance and publication decisions are based on academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and other applicable editorial criteria.
8. Open Access
The journal provides immediate and unrestricted open access to all published articles.
Readers do not need to pay subscription or access fees to read or download published articles.
The journal's open-access model is supported through an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 5,000,000 per accepted article, as specified in the journal's Open Access Policy.
The APC does not transfer copyright ownership from the authors to the journal or publisher.
9. Author's Responsibility
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- they have the necessary rights to submit and publish the work;
- the manuscript is original or appropriately attributed;
- the submission does not knowingly infringe the copyright or other intellectual property rights of third parties;
- all required permissions for third-party material have been obtained where necessary; and
- the publication of the article under CC BY 4.0 is consistent with the rights and permissions associated with the submitted material.
10. License Statement
The following statement applies to articles published by the journal:
