Copyrights and Licensing Policy

Indonesian Economic Justice Review (IEJR) is committed to protecting authors’ intellectual property rights while promoting the broad and unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge. The journal adopts a copyright retention policy under which authors retain copyright of their work without restriction.

1. Copyright Ownership

Copyright of all articles published in IEJR remains with the authors. Authors do not transfer or assign copyright ownership to the journal, publisher, or any other party as a condition of publication.

The retention of copyright allows authors to maintain ownership and control of their intellectual work while making the published article openly available under the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license.

Publication in IEJR does not prevent authors from subsequently using, reproducing, distributing, archiving, or incorporating their work into other scholarly or educational publications, subject to proper attribution and applicable third-party rights.

2. Creative Commons License

All articles published by IEJR are licensed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

The CC BY 4.0 license permits anyone to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.

These permissions are granted provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source, a link to the CC BY 4.0 license is provided, and any modifications to the original material are clearly indicated.

The license does not impose additional restrictions that would prevent lawful reuse of the published work.

3. Author Rights

By retaining copyright, authors maintain the right to:

  • Share and distribute the published article freely;
  • Deposit the published version in institutional, subject-based, or other repositories;
  • Make the published article available on personal or professional websites;
  • Use the article for teaching, research, academic presentations, and other scholarly purposes;
  • Reuse the article, in whole or in part, in future books, book chapters, theses, dissertations, or other scholarly works;
  • Create translations, adaptations, or derivative works;
  • Grant additional permissions for uses beyond those already permitted under CC BY 4.0; and
  • Commercially exploit their work, subject to applicable law and third-party rights.

No embargo is imposed by IEJR on the author's right to make the published article publicly available.

4. License Granted to the Public

Although copyright remains with the authors, publication under CC BY 4.0 grants the public broad rights to access and reuse the published work.

Users may read, download, copy, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, translate, adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the article, including for commercial purposes, provided that the original authors and source are appropriately credited.

Users must not imply that the authors or IEJR endorse any adaptation, modification, or use of the article unless such endorsement has been expressly granted.

5. Attribution Requirement

Any reuse of an IEJR article must provide appropriate attribution. At a minimum, attribution should identify:

  • The name(s) of the author(s);
  • The title of the work;
  • The journal and publication information, where applicable;
  • A reference or link to the original publication;
  • A reference or link to the CC BY 4.0 license; and
  • An indication of whether changes were made to the original material.

6. Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for identifying materials in their manuscripts that are owned by third parties, including photographs, figures, tables, datasets, images, or other copyrighted materials.

Third-party materials may not automatically be covered by the article's CC BY 4.0 license where separate copyright or licensing conditions apply.

Authors must obtain appropriate permission where required and clearly identify any third-party material that is subject to different licensing terms.

7. Moral Rights and Attribution

Nothing in the CC BY 4.0 license requires authors to waive applicable moral rights or other rights that cannot legally be waived.

The journal expects all users of published material to respect the authors' contribution and to provide accurate attribution when reusing or adapting the work.

8. Open Access and Licensing

All articles published by IEJR are made available through immediate, free, and unrestricted open access.

The combination of author-retained copyright and the CC BY 4.0 license is intended to maximize the dissemination, accessibility, reuse, and impact of scholarly research while preserving appropriate attribution to the authors.

9. No Copyright Transfer

IEJR does not require authors to transfer copyright to the journal or publisher.

Submission and publication of an article do not constitute an assignment of copyright. Authors remain the copyright holders of their work before, during, and after publication.

10. Copyright and Editorial Integrity

Copyright ownership does not affect the journal's editorial standards. All manuscripts remain subject to the journal's editorial screening, double-anonymous peer review, plagiarism prevention procedures, publication ethics requirements, and research-integrity policies.

The journal reserves the right to take appropriate action concerning published material where copyright infringement, plagiarism, unauthorized use of third-party material, or other intellectual-property violations are identified.

11. Policy Statement

IEJR is committed to the principle that authors should retain ownership of their intellectual work while scholarly research remains freely accessible and reusable by the public.

Accordingly, all published articles are:

Copyright © The Authors

and are distributed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

The full terms of the CC BY 4.0 license are available through the official Creative Commons license documentation.
