Copyrights and Licensing Policy

Indonesian Sports Justice Review is committed to protecting authors' rights while promoting the widest possible dissemination, reuse, and impact of scholarly research.

The journal operates under a copyright retention model. Authors retain the full copyright and all associated intellectual property rights in their original work. Publication in the journal does not require authors to transfer, assign, or surrender copyright to the journal, publisher, or any other third party.

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain full copyright ownership of their published articles.

By publishing with Indonesian Sports Justice Review, authors do not transfer or assign copyright to the journal or publisher.

Authors retain the right to:

  • retain ownership of their work;
  • share and disseminate the published article;
  • deposit the article in institutional, subject, or other legitimate repositories;
  • reuse the article or substantial portions of it in future scholarly works;
  • use the article for teaching, research, and other academic purposes;
  • reproduce, distribute, and communicate the work;
  • adapt or build upon the work; and
  • grant additional permissions to third parties where appropriate,

subject to applicable law and the terms of the Creative Commons license under which the article is published.

No additional permission from the journal is required for uses that are already permitted under the applicable Creative Commons license.

2. Creative Commons License

All articles published by Indonesian Sports Justice Review are licensed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, users are permitted to:

  • Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
  • Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially;

provided that appropriate attribution is given to the original author(s) and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made to the original work are indicated.

The CC BY 4.0 license does not restrict lawful commercial or non-commercial reuse of the published article.

3. Author Rights

Authors retain the broadest possible rights to their published work consistent with the CC BY 4.0 license.

Authors may share their articles immediately upon publication through:

  • institutional repositories;
  • subject repositories;
  • personal or professional websites;
  • academic networks;
  • research databases;
  • educational platforms; and
  • other lawful channels.

No embargo period is imposed by the journal.

Authors are encouraged to link to the official version of record whenever the article is shared elsewhere.

4. Third-Party Use and Reuse

Readers, researchers, educators, institutions, publishers, policymakers, and other users may reuse published articles under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.

Permitted reuse includes, but is not limited to:

  • copying and redistribution;
  • quotation and incorporation into other scholarly works;
  • translation;
  • adaptation;
  • text and data mining;
  • educational use;
  • inclusion in academic or institutional materials;
  • creation of derivative works; and
  • commercial reuse.

Users must provide appropriate attribution and must not imply that the original author or journal endorses the reuse unless such endorsement has been expressly granted.

5. Attribution Requirements

Any reuse of an article published under CC BY 4.0 must provide appropriate attribution.

Attribution should, where reasonably practicable, include:

  • the name(s) of the author(s);
  • the title of the article;
  • the name of the journal;
  • the publication year;
  • the source or DOI, where available;
  • an indication of the CC BY 4.0 license; and
  • an indication of whether changes were made.

A suitable attribution may follow the general form:

Author(s), “Article Title,” Indonesian Sports Justice Review, Year, DOI, licensed under CC BY 4.0.

6. No Additional Restrictions

The journal does not impose additional contractual restrictions on reuse beyond those contained in the CC BY 4.0 license.

Authors are not required to obtain separate permission from the journal for uses that are expressly permitted by CC BY 4.0.

The journal does not prohibit commercial reuse, adaptation, translation, redistribution, or other forms of lawful reuse permitted under the license.

7. Third-Party Materials

Authors are responsible for identifying and obtaining appropriate permissions for third-party materials included in their manuscripts where such materials are not owned by the authors or are not otherwise compatible with the CC BY 4.0 license.

Where specific third-party material is subject to different copyright or licensing conditions, the applicable rights information should be clearly identified in the published article.

The CC BY 4.0 license applies to the article and its content to the extent that such content is owned by the author(s) and included under the journal's licensing terms.

8. Moral Rights and Other Rights

The CC BY 4.0 license does not waive or otherwise eliminate rights that cannot legally be waived, including applicable moral rights.

Users must comply with applicable laws concerning privacy, publicity, defamation, data protection, and other rights that may apply independently of copyright.

9. Copyright Notice

The following copyright and licensing statement shall be displayed with each published article:

© The Author(s), [Year]. The author(s) retain copyright of this article. This article is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and the source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated.

10. Licensing and Publication Agreement

The journal's publication agreement shall reflect the copyright-retention model.

Authors grant Indonesian Sports Justice Review the necessary non-exclusive rights to publish, reproduce, distribute, communicate, archive, index, and make the article publicly available as part of the journal's scholarly publishing activities.

This publishing authorization does not constitute a transfer or assignment of copyright ownership.

The journal may also make published articles available through indexing services, repositories, scholarly databases, preservation systems, and other legitimate channels consistent with the CC BY 4.0 license.

11. Open Access

All articles are published under an open-access model and are freely available to readers immediately upon publication.

There is no subscription barrier or embargo period for access to the published articles.

The combination of copyright retention and CC BY 4.0 licensing is intended to maximize the accessibility, discoverability, dissemination, and reuse of scholarly research.

12. Policy Statement

Indonesian Sports Justice Review supports a rights-retention and open-access publishing model in which authors maintain ownership of their intellectual work while granting the public broad rights to access, reuse, and build upon published research.

Accordingly:

Authors retain full copyright.

The journal does not require copyright transfer.

Articles are published under CC BY 4.0.

Reuse, redistribution, adaptation, and commercial use are permitted subject to proper attribution and the terms of CC BY 4.0.

This policy is intended to provide authors with maximum control over their scholarly work while facilitating broad and unrestricted dissemination of academic knowledge.
