Submission Preparation
Before submitting a manuscript to the Indonesian Minority Justice Review (IMJR), authors should carefully prepare their submission and ensure that it complies with the journal's Focus and Scope, Author Guidelines, Peer Review Policy, Publication Ethics, and Anti-Plagiarism Policy.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that all required information and files are complete and accurate at the time of submission.
1. Manuscript Eligibility
Before submission, authors should ensure that:
-
the manuscript falls within the Focus and Scope of IMJR;
-
the manuscript is original and has not been published previously in substantially the same form;
-
the manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal;
-
the manuscript represents a substantive scholarly contribution;
-
all authors have approved the manuscript and agreed to its submission;
-
appropriate research ethics requirements have been fulfilled, where applicable; and
-
all sources, data, quotations, legal authorities, and other materials have been appropriately acknowledged.
2. Required Submission Files
Authors should prepare the following files:
A. Main Manuscript
The main manuscript should contain the complete article text but must not contain information that unnecessarily identifies the authors, in accordance with the journal's double-anonymous peer review process.
The manuscript should generally include:
-
Title
-
Abstract
-
Keywords
-
Introduction
-
Literature Review and/or Theoretical Framework
-
Research Methodology
-
Results, Findings, or Legal Analysis
-
Discussion
-
Conclusion
-
References
Additional sections may be included where appropriate to the research design.
B. Title Page
A separate title page should contain:
-
full title of the manuscript;
-
full name of each author;
-
institutional affiliation;
-
department or academic unit, where applicable;
-
city and country;
-
institutional or professional email address;
-
ORCID iD, where available;
-
corresponding author designation; and
-
acknowledgments, where applicable.
The title page should be submitted separately from the anonymized manuscript.
C. Supplementary Files
Where applicable, authors should provide supplementary materials necessary to support the manuscript, such as:
-
research instruments;
-
datasets or supporting data;
-
appendices;
-
additional tables or figures;
-
interview protocols;
-
methodological materials; or
-
other supporting documents.
Authors should ensure that supplementary materials do not contain confidential or personally identifiable information unless appropriate ethical and legal requirements have been satisfied.
3. Anonymization for Peer Review
IMJR uses a double-anonymous peer review process.
Authors should remove identifying information from the main manuscript, including:
-
author names;
-
institutional affiliations;
-
email addresses;
-
ORCID iDs;
-
acknowledgments that identify the authors;
-
identifiable funding information where necessary for anonymity; and
-
other information that could unnecessarily reveal the authors' identities.
Self-citations should not be removed when they are academically necessary. However, authors should present them in a neutral manner that does not unnecessarily disclose their identity during the review process.
Authors should also check document properties and file metadata to remove personal information where technically possible.
4. Manuscript Formatting
Manuscripts should be prepared using the journal's official manuscript template, where provided.
Authors should ensure consistency in:
-
headings and subheadings;
-
paragraph formatting;
-
quotations;
-
footnotes or in-text citations, as applicable;
-
tables and figures;
-
numbering;
-
abbreviations;
-
references; and
-
overall document structure.
The manuscript should be submitted in an editable file format specified by the journal's submission system.
5. Title, Abstract, and Keywords
The manuscript should contain:
-
a clear and concise title;
-
an abstract of approximately 150–250 words; and
-
4–6 keywords.
The abstract should clearly communicate the research problem, objective or research question, methodology or analytical approach, principal findings or arguments, and conclusion or significance.
Keywords should be specific and relevant to the manuscript and should facilitate indexing and scholarly discovery.
6. References and Citations
Authors must ensure that:
-
all sources cited in the manuscript appear in the reference list;
-
all references listed are cited in the manuscript;
-
citations are accurate and complete;
-
legal and other primary sources are appropriately identified;
-
DOI information is included where available; and
-
the required citation style is applied consistently.
Authors should prioritize relevant, authoritative, and current scholarly sources while appropriately engaging with foundational literature.
7. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
Tables and figures should be:
-
numbered consecutively;
-
referred to in the manuscript;
-
accompanied by appropriate titles or captions; and
-
sourced appropriately where the material is not original to the authors.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted third-party materials where permission is legally required.
8. Research Ethics Documentation
Where applicable, authors should be prepared to provide information or documentation concerning:
-
institutional ethics approval;
-
informed consent;
-
participant protection;
-
confidentiality and privacy;
-
data protection;
-
permissions for access to research materials; and
-
other relevant ethical safeguards.
The Editorial Team may request supporting documentation during the editorial or peer review process.
9. Required Declarations
Authors should prepare the following statements where applicable:
Conflict of Interest
Authors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflict of interest.
Where no conflict exists, authors may state:
“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest.”
Funding
Authors should identify all sources of financial support for the research.
Where no external funding was received:
“This research received no external funding.”
Data Availability
Authors should state whether supporting research data or materials are available and explain any restrictions arising from ethical, legal, privacy, confidentiality, or intellectual property considerations.
Ethical Approval
Where applicable, authors should provide the name of the approving institution, approval number, and relevant date or other identifying information.
Acknowledgments
Contributors who do not qualify for authorship may be acknowledged separately.
10. Artificial Intelligence Disclosure
Authors remain responsible for all content submitted to IMJR, including content prepared or assisted by artificial intelligence tools.
Where AI or generative AI tools have materially contributed to manuscript preparation, authors should disclose the nature and purpose of the use in accordance with the journal's AI policy.
AI tools must not be listed as authors.
Authors must independently verify AI-assisted content, particularly factual claims, citations, quotations, legal authorities, references, and research findings.
11. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript is original and properly attributes all sources.
IMJR may conduct similarity or plagiarism screening before or during peer review. Authors should ensure that the manuscript does not contain:
-
unattributed direct quotations;
-
inappropriate paraphrasing;
-
unauthorized reuse of another person's ideas or data;
-
duplicate or redundant publication; or
-
undisclosed substantial reuse of the authors' own previously published work.
Similarity screening is an editorial assessment tool and is not treated as an automatic determination of plagiarism.
12. Authorship
All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work and must approve the submitted manuscript.
Authors should determine authorship before submission. Changes to the author list after submission require appropriate justification and approval from all affected authors and the Editorial Team.
13. Submission Metadata
During online submission, authors should provide complete and accurate metadata, including where applicable:
-
manuscript title;
-

-

-
