Article Processing Charges

The Indonesian Minority Justice Review (IMJR) is an open access journal. To support the editorial, peer review, production, hosting, archiving, and long-term dissemination of published articles, the journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 5,000,000 (five million Indonesian Rupiah) per accepted article.

1. APC Amount

The applicable Article Processing Charge is:

IDR 5,000,000 (five million Indonesian Rupiah) per accepted article.

The APC applies only to manuscripts that have been accepted for publication following the journal's editorial assessment and peer review process.

2. No Submission Fee

IMJR does not charge a submission fee. Authors are not required to make any payment when submitting a manuscript for editorial consideration.

3. When the APC Is Charged

The APC is payable only after a manuscript has received a formal acceptance decision. Authors will receive information regarding the payment procedure from the Editorial Office after acceptance.

The payment of an APC has no influence on the editorial decision. Acceptance is based solely on the academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and scholarly contribution of the manuscript.

4. What the APC Covers

The APC supports the costs associated with:

  • editorial and administrative processing;

  • peer review management;

  • copyediting and article preparation;

  • typesetting and online publication;

  • digital hosting and accessibility;

  • DOI and article metadata management, where applicable;

  • digital archiving and preservation; and

  • dissemination and maintenance of the journal's online publication platform.

5. No Pay-to-Publish Guarantee

Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance or publication. All manuscripts must successfully complete the journal's editorial and peer review procedures.

Editorial decisions are made independently of an author's ability or willingness to pay publication charges.

6. Refund Policy

APCs are not payable before acceptance. If an accepted article is subsequently withdrawn by the author before publication, any refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis by the Editorial Team, taking into account whether publication-related services or production work have already been undertaken.

No refund will be provided where an article is retracted after publication because of author misconduct, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or other violations of publication ethics.

7. Waivers and Discounts

Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a waiver or partial reduction where applicable. Requests for waivers or discounts are considered independently of the editorial and peer review process.

A waiver request must not influence the academic evaluation or publication decision concerning the manuscript.

Information regarding eligibility, application procedures, and available waivers will be provided by the Editorial Office.

8. Transparency of Publication Charges

IMJR is committed to transparency regarding publication costs. The APC amount and applicable conditions are publicly stated on the journal website and communicated to authors before publication.

Authors will not be charged any undisclosed publication fee.

9. Open Access and Copyright

Payment of the APC does not transfer copyright ownership to IMJR. Authors retain copyright of their published articles without restriction.

All published articles are made immediately and freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, unless otherwise explicitly stated.

The APC therefore supports the publication and dissemination of the article while authors retain copyright and readers benefit from unrestricted access and reuse under the terms of the CC BY 4.0 license.
