Copyrights and Licensing Policy

Indonesian Health Justice Review (IHJR) follows an author-retained copyright policy. Authors retain full copyright and all applicable intellectual property rights in their articles without transferring or assigning copyright to the journal.

The journal does not require authors to transfer copyright as a condition of publication.

1. Author-Retained Copyright

Authors retain full copyright ownership of their published work without restriction.

Publication in Indonesian Health Justice Review does not transfer copyright ownership from the author(s) to the journal, publisher, editorial board, or any other party.

Authors remain free to exercise their copyright and other applicable rights in their work, subject only to the terms of the applicable Creative Commons license and any rights belonging to third parties.

2. License to Publish

By submitting and publishing an article in Indonesian Health Justice Review, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish the article.

This license permits the journal to:

publish the article;
reproduce and distribute the article;
make the article publicly available;
archive and preserve the article;
disseminate the article and its metadata;
include the article in indexing and abstracting services; and
make necessary technical or formatting modifications for publication and preservation.

This license does not constitute a transfer or assignment of copyright.

The non-exclusive nature of the license means that authors remain free to exercise their copyright and to authorize others to use their work.

3. Creative Commons Licensing

All articles published by IHJR are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

The CC BY 4.0 license permits anyone to:

copy and redistribute the article in any medium or format;
remix, transform, and build upon the material; and
use the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes;

provided that appropriate attribution is given to the original author(s), the source is acknowledged, a link to the license is provided, and any modifications are indicated.

4. Author's Freedom to Reuse and Distribute

Because authors retain copyright, authors may, without requesting additional permission from IHJR:

share their published article;
post the article on personal or institutional websites;
deposit the article in institutional or subject repositories;
distribute the article through academic networks;
use the article for teaching and educational purposes;
reuse the article in books, chapters, theses, dissertations, or subsequent scholarly works;
authorize third parties to reuse the work in accordance with the applicable license; and
otherwise exercise their copyright in accordance with applicable law and the CC BY 4.0 license.

5. No Exclusive Rights Required from Authors

IHJR does not require authors to grant the journal exclusive rights to their work.

Authors may publish, distribute, archive, or otherwise reuse their work elsewhere, provided that such use is consistent with the CC BY 4.0 license and does not misrepresent the original publication record.

Where appropriate, authors are encouraged to acknowledge the original publication in IHJR and provide the DOI or permanent link to the published article.

6. Third-Party Material

The author's retained copyright applies to material for which the author holds the relevant rights.

Authors remain responsible for obtaining permission for copyrighted third-party materials where permission is required. Such third-party materials may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions and may not automatically be covered by the CC BY 4.0 license.

Any applicable third-party restrictions should be clearly identified in the article.

7. Attribution Requirement

Although authors retain full copyright, reuse of an IHJR article under the CC BY 4.0 license requires appropriate attribution.

Users must provide reasonable credit to the author(s), identify the original source, provide a link to the applicable license, and indicate whether changes were made.
