It encourages studies that examine emerging and evolving security challenges, including strategic competition, technological transformation, non-traditional and hybrid threats, defence innovation, and changes in the regional and global strategic environment.
The journal seeks to promote research that connects Indonesian experiences, policies, and strategic developments with broader theoretical and empirical debates in international defence, military, security, and strategic studies. Contributions that offer comparative perspectives, develop or test theoretical propositions, provide rigorous empirical evidence, or generate policy-relevant insights are particularly encouraged.
The Indonesian Journal of Defence, Security and Strategic Studies accepts original research articles, review articles, and other scholarly contributions that fall within the journal's scope. All submissions are subject to rigorous double-anonymous peer review and are expected to demonstrate methodological rigour, theoretical engagement, originality, and a clear contribution to the relevant body of scholarship.
