Open Access Policy

The Indonesian Anti-Corruption Studies (IACS) is a fully open access, peer-reviewed academic journal committed to ensuring immediate, free, and unrestricted access to its published scholarly content.

IACS believes that open access to academic research promotes the broad dissemination of knowledge, encourages scholarly communication, supports evidence-based policy development, and increases the accessibility and impact of research on corruption and anti-corruption studies.

1. Full Open Access

All articles published by IACS are made immediately and freely available online upon publication.

Readers do not need to subscribe, register, or pay a fee to:

  • read published articles;

  • download articles;

  • print articles;

  • share published articles; or

  • access the journal's scholarly content.

IACS does not operate a subscription or paywall model for access to its published articles.

2. Creative Commons License

All articles published by IACS are licensed under the:

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License.

Under the CC BY 4.0 license, readers and other users may:

  • share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;

  • adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material; and

  • use the material for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes.

Users must provide appropriate attribution, include a link to the license where applicable, and indicate whether changes were made.

3. Copyright

Authors retain full copyright of their published articles without restriction.

Authors do not transfer copyright ownership to IACS as a condition of publication.

The publication of an article under the CC BY 4.0 license allows others to reuse the work in accordance with the terms of that license while the authors retain copyright.

4. Author Rights

Because authors retain copyright and articles are published under CC BY 4.0, authors may:

  • share their published article;

  • deposit the published Version of Record in institutional or subject repositories;

  • distribute the article through personal or professional websites;

  • use the article in teaching and educational activities;

  • include the article in a thesis, dissertation, or academic portfolio;

  • reuse portions of the article in subsequent scholarly work, subject to appropriate attribution; and

  • otherwise reuse and disseminate their work in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

No additional permission from IACS is required for uses permitted under the applicable Creative Commons license.

5. Reader and Third-Party Rights

Users may reuse published articles in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

Appropriate attribution should normally include:

  • the author or authors;

  • the title of the article;

  • the journal name;

  • the publication information;

  • a link or reference to the original publication; and

  • an indication of the applicable CC BY 4.0 license.

Third-party materials contained within an article may be subject to separate copyright or licensing conditions where explicitly identified. Users are responsible for determining whether additional permission is required for such materials.

6. Article Processing Charge

IACS operates an author-pays open access model.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) of IDR 5,000,000 (five million Indonesian Rupiah) is payable for an accepted article.

There is:

  • no submission fee;

  • no subscription fee for readers; and

  • no access fee for published articles.

The APC is charged only after a manuscript has received a formal acceptance decision.

Payment of the APC does not influence peer review or editorial decisions.

7. Editorial Independence

IACS maintains editorial independence from financial considerations.

The ability or inability of an author to pay the APC must not determine whether a manuscript is accepted or rejected.

Manuscripts are evaluated according to academic quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and scholarly contribution.

8. Open Access and Peer Review

Open access status does not affect the journal's peer review standards.

All eligible manuscripts are subject to the journal's established editorial assessment and double-anonymous peer review process.

Open access publication is therefore not conditional upon the waiver of academic or ethical standards.

9. Repository Deposit and Self-Archiving

Authors may deposit and share the published Version of Record of their articles in:

  • institutional repositories;

  • subject repositories;

  • national or international repositories;

  • academic profiles;

  • personal or institutional websites; and

  • other lawful scholarly communication platforms.

IACS does not impose an embargo period on the self-archiving of published articles.

10. Long-Term Accessibility

IACS is committed to preserving the accessibility of published scholarly content over the long term.

The journal may participate in appropriate digital preservation, repository, and archiving systems to support continued access to its published content in the event of changes to the journal's publishing platform or operations.

11. Accessibility and Dissemination

IACS encourages the broad dissemination of its published research to researchers, policymakers, legal professionals, public institutions, civil society organizations, practitioners, students, and the wider public.

The journal supports responsible sharing and scholarly communication through repositories, academic networks, institutional websites, and other appropriate channels consistent with the CC BY 4.0 license.

12. Open Access and Research Integrity

Open access does not diminish the journal's commitment to research and publication ethics.

All published articles remain subject to the journal's:

  • Publication Ethics Policy;

  • Anti-Plagiarism Policy;

  • Peer Review Policy;

  • Research Ethics Policy;

  • Conflict of Interest Policy;

  • Correction and Retraction Policy; and

  • other applicable editorial policies.

Where ethical or integrity concerns arise after publication, IACS may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions in accordance with its publication ethics procedures.

13. Commitment to Open Scholarly Communication

IACS is committed to making high-quality research on corruption and anti-corruption studies accessible to the widest possible scholarly and public audience.

By providing immediate open access and publishing articles under the CC BY 4.0 license, IACS seeks to facilitate the free circulation, reuse, citation, and development of scholarly knowledge while protecting appropriate attribution to authors.

Open access is therefore a core principle of IACS's commitment to transparent, accessible, and responsible scholarly publishing.
