Archiving and Deposit Policy

Lentera Masyarakat Hukum is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, discoverability, and integrity of all scholarly content published by the journal. The journal supports responsible digital archiving and author self-archiving to reduce the risk of content loss and to ensure continued access to the scholarly record.

1. Digital Archiving

The journal will maintain appropriate digital preservation and archiving arrangements for all published articles, including their bibliographic metadata and, where applicable, associated supplementary materials.

Digital preservation is intended to ensure that published content remains accessible even in the event of changes to the journal's website, publishing platform, institutional infrastructure, or editorial management.

2. Author Self-Archiving

Because copyright remains with the author(s) and articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, authors are permitted to deposit and make their published articles openly available without an embargo.

Authors may deposit the Version of Record (VoR), including the final published version, in:

  • institutional repositories;

  • subject or disciplinary repositories;

  • national or international open repositories;

  • university or research institution websites;

  • personal academic websites; and

  • other legitimate scholarly or non-commercial platforms.

No additional permission from the journal is required for such deposits.

3. Repository Deposit

Authors and institutions may deposit the published version of an article together with appropriate bibliographic information.

Where possible, deposited versions should include:

  • the full article title;

  • author name(s);

  • journal title;

  • publication year;

  • volume and issue;

  • page information, where applicable;

  • DOI or other persistent identifier;

  • a link to the official version of record; and

  • the applicable CC BY 4.0 license information.

Authors are encouraged to link repository copies to the official journal version to facilitate accurate citation and usage statistics.

4. No Embargo Period

Lentera Masyarakat Hukum does not impose an embargo period on author self-archiving.

Authors may deposit the published Version of Record immediately upon publication.

This policy applies equally to articles published in regular issues and Special Issues.

5. Preservation of the Version of Record

The journal recognizes the published Version of Record (VoR) as the authoritative version of the article.

Authors and repositories are encouraged to preserve the bibliographic integrity of the published version, including the article's DOI, publication information, pagination where applicable, and citation details.

Where a deposited copy differs from the Version of Record, the deposited version should clearly identify its relationship to the published article.

6. Metadata and Discoverability

The journal is committed to maintaining accurate and complete metadata for published articles to support:

  • indexing and abstracting;

  • scholarly discovery;

  • citation tracking;

  • repository interoperability;

  • research assessment; and

  • long-term digital preservation.

Metadata may include article titles, author names, affiliations, abstracts, keywords, publication dates, references, DOI information, licensing information, and other relevant bibliographic data.

7. Persistent Identification

The journal will assign or maintain appropriate persistent identifiers, such as Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs), where available.

Persistent identifiers are intended to provide stable references to published articles and support long-term discoverability and citation.

8. Institutional and Subject Repositories

The journal encourages authors to deposit their published work in reputable institutional or disciplinary repositories.

Repository deposit is considered compatible with the journal's open access model and does not constitute duplicate publication when the deposited copy is properly identified as the same published work.

9. Third-Party Platforms

Authors may share their published articles through legitimate academic platforms and repositories in accordance with the CC BY 4.0 license.

When sharing through third-party platforms, authors are encouraged to:

  • use the Version of Record where possible;

  • provide the original citation;

  • include the DOI or permanent link;

  • retain the original licensing information; and

  • clearly identify Lentera Masyarakat Hukum as the original publisher.

10. Long-Term Preservation

The journal will seek to participate in appropriate digital preservation initiatives and services to ensure the long-term availability of its published content.

Where technically and institutionally feasible, the journal may use recognized preservation mechanisms, repository systems, or trusted third-party preservation services.

The specific preservation mechanisms may be updated as the journal's technical infrastructure and preservation arrangements develop.

11. Journal Website and Platform Continuity

The journal will take reasonable measures to maintain access to its online archive and published content.

In the event of a website migration, platform change, institutional restructuring, or other technical disruption, the journal will make reasonable efforts to preserve article files, metadata, DOI information, and publication records.

12. Special Issues and Supplementary Materials

Articles published in Special Issues are subject to the same archiving and preservation requirements as articles published in regular issues.

Where supplementary materials are formally published as part of an article, the journal will make reasonable efforts to preserve those materials together with the associated publication record.

Authors remain responsible for ensuring that supplementary materials do not contain confidential, personally identifiable, restricted, or improperly licensed information.

13. Access Following Journal Discontinuation

If Lentera Masyarakat Hukum ceases publication, the journal will make reasonable efforts to ensure continued access to its published archive and to preserve the scholarly record through appropriate repositories, digital preservation services, or successor arrangements.

Previously published articles should remain accessible in accordance with the applicable CC BY 4.0 license.

14. Open Access and Archiving

This policy is consistent with the journal's Open Access Policy and Copyright and Licensing Policy.

The journal's archiving model is based on the following principles:

  • Copyright remains with the author(s);

  • published articles are immediately open access;

  • no embargo is imposed on self-archiving;

  • the Version of Record may be deposited immediately;

  • published content is licensed under CC BY 4.0; and

  • the long-term preservation of the scholarly record is a shared responsibility of the journal, authors, and appropriate preservation infrastructure.

15. Policy Review

The journal will periodically review its archiving and preservation arrangements to ensure that they remain consistent with developments in digital preservation, open access publishing, repository standards, and international scholarly communication practices.
