Public art projects have increasingly become important tools for social engagement and cultural expression in urban spaces across Indonesia. This paper explores how public art installations in cities like Jakarta and Yogyakarta promote community engagement, social inclusion, and justice, particularly in marginalized or underserved areas. The study examines several prominent public art initiatives, looking at how they address urban issues such as poverty, inequality, and political marginalization. Through a series of case studies, the paper investigates the role of public art in fostering a sense of belonging, challenging social norms, and providing a platform for underrepresented voices in Indonesian society. Ultimately, it highlights the transformative potential of public art as a medium for promoting social justice and inclusion in contemporary urban Indonesia.
